The STI job portal opened on November 12, and within just a day, it attracted more than 100,000 applications, as shared by Punjab’s Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat. With such high interest, applicants need precise guidance to complete their profiles correctly, avoid unnecessary expenses, and ensure their applications are processed smoothly. Drawing from experience with online recruitment systems, I’ve put together a practical, user-focused walkthrough covering every major step of the STI process.

1. Essential Instructions Before Applying
Applying for STI positions requires careful planning—especially because the application fee is PKR1000 per school. This fee multiplies based on the number of schools selected, which means applying blindly can lead to unnecessary costs.
Key points to remember:
- Applicants should prioritize schools within their own Union Council (UC) based on domicile and CNIC address.
- In cases of equal merit, local candidates receive preference, making it crucial to choose wisely.
- Fees must be paid only through the bank, and the receipt should be stored safely for future steps.
- Interviews are scheduled based on proper application and guidelines; missing steps could disqualify an applicant.
Taking time to check available schools across primary, middle, and high levels within your UC helps ensure each application counts.
2. Accessing the STI Portal
Both mobile and PC users follow a similar approach to reach the portal.
How to access the portal:
- Open the browser and search for “STI PESR”.
- Select the first link labeled GSTI.pes.pk PMAI.
- Click only once—multiple clicks can cause request errors.
- Wait several seconds (sometimes up to a minute) for the portal to load.
Once the page opens, applicants will see important announcements such as:
- Application window: November 12 to 21
- Listings date: November 26
Rushing through this stage is the most common cause of user errors, so patience truly helps.
APPLY NOW3. Registration and Sign-In
The portal provides two options:
- Register (for new users)
- Sign In (for returning users)
At the moment, there is no ‘Forgot Password’ feature, so a memorable password is essential.
Registration notes
- Registration now requires the National Identity Card number (CNIC) instead of an email address.
- The CNIC must be entered without dashes.
- If an error appears stating the number already exists, the applicant may need to attempt the process again.
After registering successfully, users log in with the same CNIC and password to access their dashboard.
4. Completing Personal Details
A notice on the dashboard indicates that the profile is incomplete. Every section must be filled before applying for internships.
Personal details required
- First and last name
- CNIC
- Email address
- Gender (male, female, transgender)
- Mobile number
- Domicile district (e.g., Multan)
- Domicile issue date
- Marital status
- Alternate contact number
- Date of birth
Postal address
Applicants must:
- Select urban or rural
- Choose the district
- Allow the portal time to update each field
- Avoid mistakes by double-checking entries
This section may load slowly, so keeping calm prevents errors.
5. Selecting Your Constituency Details
Choosing the correct National Assembly (NA) and Provincial Assembly (PP) areas is vital.
How to identify the correct constituencies:
- Click the tehsil dropdown to display NA and PP lists.
- If unsure about your constituency:
- Search online for the MNA list of Pakistan.
- Look up the Punjab MPA list for provincial details.
- Select the matching constituency and proceed.
Applicants then add:
- Union Council (UC)
- Moza (local area)
- Postal address details
- Ward information (example used: Gulgasht)
Choosing the UC of one’s own area is important because residents receive preference in final selections.
6. Uploading Documents and Address Details
To complete the profile, applicants must upload:
- Profile picture (under 2MB)
- CV (under 2MB)
- Domicile certificate
- Husband’s domicile if married and relocated
If files exceed the limit, online tools such as Logic Resize can compress images or PDFs effectively.
After uploading documents, clicking Next saves the information.
If a 504 error appears, applicants should:
- Avoid refreshing
- Try submitting again
- Understand that the profile may have saved successfully despite the error
7. Adding Educational Qualifications
Education details must be entered one level at a time.
Steps for each academic level:
- Select qualification (Matric, Intermediate, Bachelor’s, Master’s)
- Choose major subjects
- Select the board
- Enter start and completion dates
- Choose grading type (marks or CGPA)
- Add total and obtained marks
- Upload degree or result card (under 2MB)
Submitting educational information may require patience, as the form occasionally reloads or triggers minor errors.
8. Entering Work Experience
Even a single month of work experience is worth adding.
Required information:
- Nature of experience (teaching or non-teaching)
- Employer name
- Department name
- Job designation
- Responsibilities
- Start and end dates
- Experience letter (or temporary narrative if the official letter is pending)
Applicants can add multiple entries to strengthen their profile.
9. Professional Qualifications
This section includes certifications or degrees such as:
- B.Ed
- M.Ed
- MA Education
Applicants can also select “Other” and add the qualification manually. Uploading documents and verifying entries ensures the profile remains accurate. Duplicate entries can be deleted easily.
Once completed, applicants proceed to challan generation.
10. Generating the Challan and Selecting Schools
To generate the challan:
- Enter the applicant’s father’s or husband’s name.
- Choose the teaching level (primary, middle, high, or higher secondary).
- Select a nearby school from the list.
- Choose the internship position.
- Generate the challan and print it.
Applicants can apply to up to five schools, with each challan costing PKR1000.
Total cost for five schools: PKR5000.
Applicants facing difficulties may seek assistance from individuals offering paid support, though it’s best to follow official guidelines carefully to avoid unnecessary expenses.
